GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – In the United States, an estimated 57.8 million adults struggle with a mental illness. When feeling unbalanced, health professionals would tell their patients to take breaks, set boundaries, or seek further support. However, Mente, a wellness collective, decided to host a mental health benefit show in Miami, Florida on April 17th, 2025, alongside comedians Luis Galilei, Luis Diaz, Carlos Hernandez, Eli Rodriguez, and Micheal Sota.

Jason Canela, an American actor, serves as a passionate advisor and advocate for Mente whose mission is to destigmatize mental health discussions in Latino communities by creating safe, joyful, and relevant spaces. Its signature event, Good For Your Mente, bravely mixes stand-up comedy and group therapy, designed especially for young and diverse audiences.

Jason Canela has faced his share of identity struggles, which sparked personal battles with mental health. Yet, through that journey, he discovered an unexpected source of healing—stand-up comedy. His connection with Mente has helped him grow in love by uplifting others.

Good For Your Mente invites individuals to laugh and reflect–that is the soul of the organization. For just $15, attendees experience a night of top-tier Latino comedy, and even receive a one-year premium subscription to Calm, one of the world's leading applications for mental health.

Consistently, Mente has drawn crowds eager for moments of relief and belonging. People linger after each show, not just for pictures, but for honest conversations.

The saying, “Caras vemos, corazones no sabemos,” or faces we see, hearts we do not know, presents a powerful reminder to extend grace, lead with compassion, and check in on one another. Stay encouraged by following Mente on Instagram and TikTok (@mente.world) today.
